HISTORY
Smith Seven Star Farms Inc. is a family run commercial farm founded by Phil & Jane Smith. In 1981 Phil and Jane were married and together had 7 children. Together with their children they have developed a diversified farm operation. The farm's main entity is swine genetics, exports and it also has a beef and cash crop operation. Our goal is to raise quality animals and crops for the food and agriculture industries.
In 1981 the home farm in Iona Station, Ontario was purchased.During this time Phil was working for Quality Swine Cooperative. In 1987 Phil joined George, Ross & Charlie Proctor at Bodmin Limited. Bodmin was incorporated in 1956 and has been a performance tested pure-bred swine herd since 1974. After years of working along side the Proctor brothers, George, his daughter Kate and Phil formed Bodmin Genetics Inc. Bodmin Genetics is now owned and operated by Phil, Jane, Amanda, John Smith and Abigail Johnson.
